Mothers
Feb 18th, 2010 by admin
Awhile back, I was reminded of the story in the Bible, where King Solomon was called on to judge between two women to see who was the mother of a young baby. These women were, according to the Bible, harlots and yet King Solomon in his wisdom knew that it is within every mother to instinctively want to protect her baby, no matter what the cost. As most of you know, King Solomon suggested cutting the baby in half and each women sharing the baby. Of course the real mother, the Bible says yearned with compassion for her son, and was willing to give her son to the other women in order to save his life.
As I think about this story I am saddened that the instinct to save our babies seems to be lost. Here the mother, even after her son was born was willing to give him up in order to save his life, and yet so many women tell us that they would rather abort their babies instead of giving them up for adoption.
Please continue to pray for our counselors, nurses and receptionists as we minister to these women everyday and try to get them to realize that the baby inside them is God’s creation and that God loves their baby.
Pray as we remind our clients that the moment they became pregnant, they were in fact mothers and as mothers they should want to protect their babies no matter what the cost. Pray that more women would come to us before they decide on abortion and that more would choose life for their babies.
